What is soaring - Soaring is the exhilarating sport of gaining altitude by skillfully riding air currents, then gliding gracefully through the air before finding another rising current to repeat the process. This allows sailplanes (high-performance gliders) to travel incredible distances—modern sailplanes have soared over 2,000 km (1,200 miles) in a single day.
